BEWARE OF THE HOLE
There's a dark hole in the garden
And I know it's waiting there
For children to come and visit
Wandering to its edge, if they dare.
There's a deep hole in the garden
Deep and dark and wide
Many have heard it call them in
And many have, sadly, complied.
There's a hole there in the garden
Dark from side to side
If you hear it say, "Come out to play."
Child, stay indoors and hide!

OLD BOOT
There's an old boot in the garden
Beside a rose-bush thorn
Its laces, spliced and withered,
Show it was well-worn.
I wonder who wore that old boot
Who wore its leather down
Tied its laces tight and firm
Thin and muddy brown.
Where is its partner now?
Are there stories to be told?
The old boot lies in the garden
Where will I lie when I'm old?

MUSHROOM
I'm glad I don't live in a mushroom
There's not much room at all
I tried to drag my bed in there
But it went right through the wall.
I tried to hang a picture up
To add a simple chair
But it's far too small for anything at all
So now it's dark and bare.
Mushrooms are so tiny
You can't even fit a mouse
How many rooms do you think would fit
Inside a mushroom house?
